Yes, this took five days and lots of stuffing of many envelopes with a glue stick. But, anyhow, first, thank you for your comments. I know you are right about saving time/expense in the long run. And,I will see if I can find info on how to create custom fields.(I don't have much time to do this during working hours. I've been going in on my days off.) I don't know if that is a gargantuan task to create custom fields for all these clients. I think once I can clean up all the old clients that were not closed and clients that are in Collections that should be put on "hold all bills", it should be just a push of the generate bills button, but until I find the time to weed out these types of clients, I have to pick the specific clients my attorney tells me to for now. No one had or took the time to close out all the clients that are closed. You said "there is an option to review proof stage bills when generating bills. This is what pulled up the list that you saw when generating bills." That must be why I got so many bills that were in the proof stage from ages ago. Someone before me must have never approved. Next, you had said "cannot use template for finding and approving", did you mean I can't use the template when in Revision stage to find and approve? OR did you mean I can't use the template to find and approve at all which brings me to your next comment: "When in generate bills if you retrieve your template whatever was previously selected in the template should be selected again." I know those clients will be in that template again as I had saved the template, but as noted above can I or can't I use that template to approve those bills? Is the purpose of template just to be used to print bills initially? When I go in to the office tomorrow, my goal is to approve the bills that are on the template list. Should I just generate bills and look at the ones that are proofed and hand pick the ones I want. It seems ridiculous to do all that hand checking again when I have a template of clients, but the system printed tons of proof stage bills that I didn't pick so I don't know what to do. Once I retrieve the template it goes into the Client Selection Filter (I think-..can't remember...). If I am correct about it going into the filter in the generate bills box, how do I approve them all? My guess is I would have to print them all again in order to get the prompt that asks to put in proofs, approve, etc. I think I am confused between that prompt and whether just to go to bills: approve or clear. So, should I go to Bills: approve or clear and just check off who I know is good to be billed and approve and don't bother with the template?
