Your TS 2004 data should convert just fine to TS 2014. I would recommend running Data Verification just looking for errors only to be sure all is well. Also, ensure your old database has less than 300,000 slip transactions or the conversion won't go forward. As there was quite a change in the database table structure after TS 2004, the conversion may take some time depending on the size. Run Aged A/R and Aged WIP reports to compare before and after the conversion and perform the conversion on a local drive turning off power management and screen savers just in case. Good luck!
