Forum Post: Timeslips & Windows 10 - single (solo) user

I have been using the same features of Timeslips since Windows 95 but am forced to upgrade every three years or so to have a version that runs under the latest MS OS. This was tolerable when the upgrades were around $100 but they are now more like $600. For this reason I am still running Timeslips 2010 but have moved it to a desktop PC running Win7. I am considering buying Timeslips 2016, which I believe runs under Win 10. MS asserts Win10 is its "last" OS. I already know this is just PR as I have Win10 tablets that are unable to install "upgrades" to Win10 and will shortly be unable to run apps made to run under the latest Win10. I would expect as this situation becomes more common, MS will revert and there will be a Win11 (or a "Win10-Ver.2). So, my question is, Does anyone have a feel for how long TS-2016 will actually run on the most current version of Windows 10, whatever that is now expected to be? The alternative is to run TS-2010 on the Win7 PC until 1/14/20 when MS security support ends for Win7, then disconnect from the web (pickling?) and keep going for however longer I practice after age 74.
