Need report of deposits made categorized by task (or activity)

We are a cash basis business, so the reporting of income is made when the actual payment is made, not when the item is billed. We need to know the type of income received for accounting/tax purposes. It would be very helpful if we could get a report by month (or deposit date) that showed the breakdown of which type of activity was paid at the time of payment (not the total billed).
