When we upgraded from 09 to 14, we attempted to restore select users' .pref file, however we put it in their the general c:\programs\timeslips folder as opposed to users\appdata\timeslip folder. When we moved their prefs to their profile folder the changes seemed to stick. Thanks for the response Nancy
