Forum Post: RE: Billed Slip Value

We will do progress billing but that is only maybe twice a year on one or two clients.  The Slip Summary Listing is prepared each month after I do the billng so in my opinion the BSV should not change but it has.  The Slip Summary Listing I prepared for May 1 includes Jan. 1 thru May 1.  This report brought to my attention the BSV disparity so I started looking by month (Jan 1 thru Feb 3 -- because I did the billing late that particular month) and compared the numbers to the report originally printed back on 2/3.  For some reason the BSV did not match.  A small disparity in the BSV is not a big deal (as time on hold, etc. can change it) but when it changes dramatically like to did as of 2/3, then there must be something causing it. I did not catch it right away but it is possible the BSV changed sometime in February as my report on 3/1 covering 1/1 thru 3/1 has a disparity in the BSV as well.  I have checked deposits YTD to see if anything jumped out at me and all is verified.  I have also double-checked that the hourly rates did not change in the system and all is OK.  Also, each month we choose which clients to bill....we do not bill every client with time outstanding.  If we are doing 2nd request billing, I put the time pending/WIP on hold and zero-out the Absolute Flat Fee until it is time to bill the WIP. This is quite a mystery. Thank you.
