Okay, well, let's chat about that a bit. First off, you can only Archive slips. That's it. No payments, clients, billing, trust account transactions, or bill images. Just slips. Also, Archiving will only get you a copy of those slips in a file that you could later look at. It does not take anything out of the database, remove items or prune it in any way. If you would like to prune the slips down, you would want to first make a backup with unique date and put it in a safe place, then make an Archive of the slips you plan to remove, then use the Purge function to actually remove the slips. How many slips do you have? Check your Slip ID number. Most users are quite fine keeping all their slips as long as they are not having performance issues, but once you start to have about 300,000 slips we do like to slim that table down a bit to keep the database healthy and humming along. Even if you don't decide to Archive and/or Purge, it is probably a good idea to make an independent year end backup and keep it in a safe place. Hope this helps.
