AMCrfreeman: Sounds like your original install was done under a different set of security credentials. The Scheduled Backup is installed and runs as a Service. I would backup the database to a safe place. Record the reinstall codes just in case, and then reinstall over your current copy of the program with an account with sufficient rights (full Admin to the machine) and see if you get the service to install. If you have a Windows 7 box, you may have to turn off UAC for the install and reboot to completely turn it off. While _I_ would feel comfortable doing so, I can understand your reluctance to begin a process that you are unfamiliar with, and that may turn up additional issues along the way. The key here is that if you have a backup of the database and your reinstall codes, you should be able to recover from anything. Period. Including crashes, fire, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. :-) If you would like someone to help you with that, any Certified Consultant should be able to assist you remotely for a fee.
