Forum Post: Rate for client will not calculate correctly on client invoice

Hello, It's me. I was wondering if you could help. Having issues. In the law office I work in we have a set up per court order where we open a Timeslips file for a husband and a Timeslips for a wife. Sometimes they are to pay per court order either 50% each, or a specific percentage each, and I've not had a problem before with this. So, I created their files in Timeslips (Timeslips 2012) and entered the Timekeeper rate at $137.50 for each separate client and set it at Level "none" in Rates which allows me to add whatever rate we need to enter. At the bottom of the Rates screen, it says the following: "When no rules apply, default to Source" - I entered Timekeeper and Level 1. I wasn't sure if that was correct, but when I looked at previous files created by former assistants before me that was how they did it. So, I opened these files as noted above. I generated a practice bill and the one file's bill was correct at $137.50 per hour. The other file was not - it printed out a bill with an hourly rate at twice the amount which came to $275.00. I created both files alike. I cannot figure out what happened. As an aside, I decided to close these new files and recreate them. That helped, but only the wife's file's hourly rate was correct. Should I close out the husband's file again and start from scratch? I hope this makes sense. Donna
