Forum Post: RE: Error message when exchanging new Amicus files with Timeslips
Can you successfully open Timeslips on the workstation? Can you go to the server and go through the link setup?

Thank you for your ideas on this. I think that I have figured it out. Some items were moved around on the server to make room for backups and the problem began right about then. I am hoping to confirm...

At this point creating the new client and recreating the bill might be your best bet, then make sure to close the original. Going forward, if this happens again, yes, undoing the bill first is the way...

Thank you, Marc. I imagine (I'm not at work yet) I would have to close the old client first right? Because Timeslips will say there's a duplicate if I create a new client.
View ArticleForum Post: RE: Last bill was approved. Employer wanted to change it.
Actually not necessarily. Even if you close the client, you can't create another one with the same nickname 1. You can create a slightly different nickname 1 if you want, like if it was a number 12345...

Ok great. I understand. One more question in response to your reply. What would be the purpose of purging? And if I wanted to do that how?. Or is this something I can look up on time slips help...
View ArticleForum Post: RE: Last bill was approved. Employer wanted to change it.
All of it should be in Timeslips help. In your example, the purge would allow you to create a new client with the exact same Nickname1. Otherwise, purging is an individual decision based on your own...

Once your bills are in the proof stage AND you have a good clean copy of them, you can approve from proof. No need to reprint and go through the process again.
