We are upgrading to Timeslips 2019 and when we try to connect to the database which is located on our server we get an error "connection rejected by remote interface". We even get this message on the server machine. Does anyone know what we are doing wrong or what we can do to get Timeslips up and running?

Check this article in the Timeslips support center. Generally restarting the firebird service will fix the problem. https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=79423&sliceId=2

I did do a Special Text Search every which way I could think of, but nothing came up. I just ran a Client report and found it...typo on my part creating a new Client name out of it somewhere along the line! Thanks for your suggestions!

Unfortunately that is not fixing the issue. Any other suggestions?

I'd make sure all the ports are open correctly (3050, 4000). I've seen where the UI doesn't do it correctly and you need to manually open them up. Nancy Duhon, Esq. I've opened both ports manually but still not working. If I use Port 3050 (the default) I get the message unavailable database and with Port 4000 I'm still get connection rejected by remote interface. Here is a picture of my Diagnose The Computer. It seems to be having an issue with the server name but I'm not sure how that is since I get this when I look at the TSServer Service:

What does the z:\Databases drive point to? Is it a local drive or a mapped drive?

Mapped drive. That is the diagnoses from my workstation.

Can you run the Diagnosis on the server? Is it the same path? Is it a mapped drive on the server? If it is, try a local path. The workstations do not need to see the database path the way the old Timeslips did. Since it is now Firebird SQL, the database will be "broadcast" by the server and the workstation will just connect to it.

The port should be 3050 on that screen.

When I change the port to 3050 I get the following:

Additionally when I do the server diagnose it states that it is using port 4000 not 3050. Furthermore when switching the port I receive a message that the TSService.exe is stopped.

Is there in fact a DATA01.FDB located in C:\Data\Time Slips\Databases on the server?

Very good, then I think you have exhausted the limits of my ability to troubleshoot wtih you via the bulletin board. You might want to just call support directly since this is a new upgrade for you. Also, the program uses two different ports for different purposes. The Diagnose THIS COMPUTER should show port 3050, but the Diagnose the Server should show port 4000.

John: Have you applied the May 22nd Service Release available here: May 22, 2018 Service Release Did it help with the sort? There was supposed to be a fix for that in the patch.
