Look at a slip totals by period or slip summary and filter for "billed on invoice date"

You don't say what version of Timeslips. Assuming it is a current version: Do you have TeamViewer running? If so exit that and then try again. If not, use task manager to make sure that timeslip.exe is not running in the background anywhere, then right click on the Timeslips icon and choose run as administrator. If neither of these work you will either have to call technical support or work with a certified consultant.

Not sure why, but it seemed it had something to do with the OneNote Clipper. It had somehow got set to open on startup. I stopped it from doing that and now Timeslips works fine. Strange.

When you say "locked up" is there an error? Does it happen when the first machine is on or when additional machines come on? There are some things that could be checked, primarily paths, timeout settings and opportunistic locking. You might want to work with a Timeslips certified consultant. I did work with timeslips. They did not help. I spoke with more than one person and spent hours trying to get it working correctly. I am coming to this forum to see if anyone else had this problem and fixed it somehow. Trying to find support but I will not pay for anyone to help. Have done that with sage and it did not change They where not able to fix it. Telling me a bunch of crap saying wait for update. That will fix. But it never helped. Even when upgrade from 2014 to 2015 it did not change. By locking up I mean freezing I guess is best way to explain. No error. It just won't do anything. Some times you need to end task to get back. Most times if you wait 5 min or so it will allow u to work but very very slow. When just the pc that has the database on it is working alone it is ok. But as soon as someone else logs into timeslips it starts to freeze Thanks

Have you tried turning off anti-virus temporarily? Have you tried turning off all other programs to make sure there is not a conflict? Is there a specific function being done or doesn't matter? I understand your frustration but, without any hands on and coming in cold there's not a lot to do. I can tell you I have many clients running in similar environment without problems which is why I suggested we talk.

I have tried turning off antivirus. Also make sure no other programs are running. I have the computer running great u till the second person logs onto timeslips. You say contact outside help might be good idea. That is one reason I have started this post. I am not sure where else I can find support that I don't have to pay for. I am just confused why timeslips has not been able to fix the problem. And they still charge me even know they did not get it working correctly.

Recently we set up a new computer for a client and now that one perticular user can not access Sage Timeslips whenever anyone else is on. if either of the two other users in the office are on then she can not get on. But the other two users can get on just fine. I think it has something to do with her user. I made sure that I named her computer the same as the old one but I think its something more. Ideas would be appreciated these are lawyers and are getting upset about the product.

Forum Post: Licenses not releasing properly
We use a terminal server for up to 10 employees to use and access Timeslips. Every 2-3 days I have to manually release licenses. I have been told several times it is due to the users not logging off properly. I am finding that on several occasions it does seem to be the sme 2 users. I have also come to the conclusion that they may not be logging of so after the 1 hours idle timeout they are getting auto logged off the server which I feel is killing their Timeslips that I assume they left open. In the past, 2013 version, we used a batch file to nightly release the licenses bu am being told you do not need this for 2014 but there is for sure a major issue. I was hoping maybe someone else has seen this and has the batch file they can share for 2014 or if anyone has any other thoughts. Thank you in advance for your time.

The path used to the timeslip.cfg file is different on the new computer than on the others. You can look at the path by going to help - about Timeslips. The install path must be the same. You can change it by going to start - all programs - Timeslips - station administrator - option - change install path.

Forum Post: Timeslips and Windows 8.1
Hello, My computer updated from Windows 8 to 8.1 last week and since the update I cannot open Timeslips. Is 8.1 compatible with Timeslips? When I run a troubleshooter, it says "incompatible program". I certainly hope that version 2014 does not need upgrading to 2015 in order for me to get some work done. I have found nothing on the internet about this. I also tried reinstalling the program and still same issue. I really could use some good advice!!! Thanks!

I would first try run as administrator. If that doesn't work, I would try to uninstall and reinstall on the computer.

The batch file for releasing licenses that are inadvertently being held is located in Knowledgebase article 14385 - How to automate clearing all Timeslips licenses. Timeslips 2014 clears licenses properly, if the users log out of Timeslips correctly. A license will not clear due to a timeout setting, as you can see.
